AI Connector Terms of Service
Last updated: April 9, 2026
These AI Connector Terms of Service ("AI Connector Terms") supplement the Skode Technologies Private Limited Terms of Service ("Main Terms"). They apply whenever you activate or use any AI connector within the Skode platform, currently including integrations with OpenAI (ChatGPT) and Anthropic (Claude). Google Gemini is on our AI-provider roadmap but is not in use today; these Terms will be updated before any new provider is enabled. Capitalised terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Main Terms.
1. Scope
These AI Connector Terms govern your use of Skode's AI connector features, which allow you to connect third-party AI providers to your Skode CRM, Flow, and other Skode modules. These terms supplement and form part of the Main Terms of Service. In the event of a conflict between these AI Connector Terms and the Main Terms, these AI Connector Terms prevail with respect to AI connector functionality.
2. Definitions
- AI Connector: A feature within Skode that enables data exchange between your Skode account and a third-party AI provider for the purpose of generating AI-powered outputs.
- AI Provider: A third-party artificial-intelligence service integrated via an AI Connector, currently OpenAI and Anthropic.
- AI Output: Any text, analysis, summary, recommendation, or other content generated by an AI Provider through an AI Connector.
- Prompt Data: The data you send or that is sent on your behalf from your Skode account to an AI Provider via an AI Connector, including CRM records, messages, and other module data.
- Connected Modules: The specific Skode modules (e.g., Contacts, Deals, Tasks, Invoices, Flow Messages, E-commerce) that you have authorized an AI Connector to access.
3. Activation and Control
AI Connectors are opt-in features that are disabled by default. You must explicitly activate each AI Connector and select the modules it may access. By activating an AI Connector, you acknowledge that you are the data controller determining which data is transmitted to the AI Provider. You may enable or disable each connector independently at any time through your Skode account settings.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have appropriate legal bases (including any required consent from data subjects) for transmitting personal data to AI Providers through the Connected Modules you select.
4. Acceptable Use
When using AI Connectors, you must not:
- Submit special category data (as defined under GDPR Article 9) or sensitive personal data to an AI Provider without having obtained explicit consent from the relevant data subjects and having conducted a data protection impact assessment.
- Use AI Outputs for automated decision-making that produces legal effects or similarly significant effects on individuals without implementing meaningful human review and override capabilities.
- Exceed the rate limits established for your plan tier, or attempt to circumvent rate limiting mechanisms.
- Represent AI Outputs as human-authored in contexts where applicable law or regulation requires disclosure of AI involvement.
- Use AI Connectors in violation of the applicable AI Provider's usage policies or acceptable use terms.
- Attempt to extract, reverse-engineer, or replicate the underlying models or algorithms of any AI Provider through the AI Connectors.
5. Accuracy Disclaimer
AI Outputs are probabilistic in nature and may contain inaccuracies, omissions, or errors. Skode does not warrant the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or fitness for any particular purpose of any AI Output. AI Outputs do not constitute and should not be relied upon as legal advice, medical advice, financial advice, or any other form of professional advice.
You are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and validating all AI Outputs before acting on them or incorporating them into any business decision, communication, or process. AI Outputs should be treated as suggestions that require human judgment and verification.
6. Data Ownership
You retain full ownership of all Prompt Data you submit through AI Connectors. You also retain ownership of AI Outputs generated from your Prompt Data, subject to any rights or restrictions imposed by the applicable AI Provider's terms. Skode claims no ownership interest in your Prompt Data or AI Outputs.
For details on how data is processed and protected when using AI Connectors, please refer to our Privacy Policy, our AI Transparency Policy, and our Sub-Processors page.
6.1 How we secure the AI Connector
- API keys. Each connection uses a 256-bit key stored as a SHA-256 hash at rest, automatically revoked after 90 days. A daily job revokes stale or unused keys. Plain-text keys are shown once at creation only.
- Transport security. All inbound requests from OpenAI Connectors are authenticated through mutual TLS (mTLS), validating the
mtls.connectors.openai.comSAN on the client certificate. - No-training enforcement. Every AI Connector response includes the
X-OpenAI-Training: disallowandX-AI-Data-Classification: pseudonymizedHTTP headers. We rely on OpenAI’s zero-retention API mode and Anthropic’s no-training-on-API-data policy. - Workspace isolation. Every database query is filtered by workspace (
org_id) with a fail-closed guarantee. One workspace’s key can never read another workspace’s data. - Rate limits. 300 requests per minute sustained, 15 requests per second burst, 30 write operations per minute, and a per-workspace cap of 500 bulk lead operations per day. Exceeding limits returns HTTP 429.
6.2 What data is pseudonymised before it leaves Skode
When an AI Provider calls Skode’s API, the following fields are masked server-side before the response leaves our infrastructure: contact first, middle and last names (first 3 characters retained); email addresses (first 2 characters + domain retained); phone and mobile numbers (country code + last 2 digits retained); street addresses and postal codes (fully replaced); tax identifiers (first 2 characters retained); custom fields flagged sensitive.
The following fields are not masked, because they are the business context the AI needs to be useful: status, priority, lead score, industry, budget, timestamps, city, state, country, company, job title, website, deal amount, and free-text description fields. Free-text note bodies are also not scanned for embedded personal data before being returned to the AI Provider; users should treat lead notes as shareable with the connected AI Provider.
Contacts that you have flagged “Do Not Contact” are not yet automatically filtered out of AI Connector responses today. Record-level opt-out is on our roadmap; until it ships, please treat AI Connectors as operating on your entire workspace regardless of DNC status.
6.3 Data retention for AI Connector activity
Skode retains Integration Event logs (tool call, timestamp, outcome — not full prompts) for 30 days for successful events; failed events may be kept longer for investigation. OpenAI and Anthropic operate under zero-retention API arrangements and do not store prompts or responses beyond the processing session.
7. AI Provider Terms
Your use of AI Connectors is also subject to the terms and policies of the respective AI Providers. By activating an AI Connector, you acknowledge and agree to comply with the applicable provider terms:
- OpenAI (ChatGPT): OpenAI Usage Policies and OpenAI Terms of Use, both incorporated here by reference.
- Anthropic (Claude): Anthropic Acceptable Use Policy and Anthropic Commercial Terms of Service, both incorporated here by reference.
Planned: Google Gemini is on our AI-provider roadmap but is not active today. When it launches, the applicable Google terms will be listed here before Gemini can be enabled on any workspace.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Skode shall not be liable for:
- The accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any AI Output generated through an AI Connector.
- Any downtime, service interruption, or unavailability of any AI Provider's services.
- Any decisions, actions, or outcomes resulting from reliance on AI Outputs.
- Any changes to an AI Provider's terms, pricing, capabilities, or availability.
- Any data processing performed by an AI Provider in accordance with their own terms and policies.
Skode's aggregate liability for claims arising under or in connection with these AI Connector Terms is subject to the liability cap set forth in the Main Terms of Service.
9. Service Level
AI Connectors are excluded from the 99.9% uptime SLA described in our Service Level Agreement. The availability of AI Connector features depends on the uptime and performance of third-party AI Providers, which are outside Skode's direct control. Skode will use commercially reasonable efforts to maintain connectivity with AI Providers but does not guarantee uninterrupted access to AI Connector features.
In the event of extended AI Provider downtime, Skode will notify affected users and, where possible, provide alternative processing options or workarounds.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these AI Connector Terms from time to time. We will provide at least 30 days prior written notice before any material changes take effect, via email to the account administrator and/or an in-app notification. Your continued use of AI Connectors after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must deactivate all AI Connectors before the effective date.
