Cookie Policy
Last updated: March 15, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Skode Technologies ("Skode," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you visit our website at https://skode.ai or use our Services. It explains what these technologies are, why we use them, and your rights to control them.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, provide a better user experience, and deliver reporting information to website operators. Cookies set by the website owner are called "first-party cookies." Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called "third-party cookies."
2. Types of Cookies We Use
2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the website to function and cannot be disabled in our systems. They are usually set in response to actions you take, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in, or filling in forms. Without these cookies, the Services cannot function properly.
| Cookie Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| skode-cookie-consent | Skode (localStorage, marketing site) | Stores your cookie-consent choice so the banner does not reappear | Until you clear browser storage |
| skode-theme | Skode (localStorage, marketing site) | Remembers your light / dark theme preference | Until you clear browser storage |
| skode-utm-history | Skode (localStorage, marketing site) | Records UTM parameters from your arrival URL so attribution on any form you submit is accurate | Until you clear browser storage |
| skode-chat-open | Skode (sessionStorage, marketing site) | Remembers whether the chat widget was open in this tab | Until you close the tab |
| skode_sessionid | Skode (CRM app at app.skode.ai) | Authenticated session. HTTP-only, Secure in production, SameSite=Lax, 7-day maximum lifetime. | Up to 7 days |
| csrftoken | Skode (CRM app at app.skode.ai) | Protects against cross-site request forgery | Session |
We also use localStorage inside the CRM app for UI preferences: field_configs, theme, chat-panel-minimized, chat-active-thread, and STORAGE_KEY_ACTIVE_ORG. These remain until you clear your browser or log out.
2.2 Analytics Cookies (set only with your consent)
Analytics on the Skode marketing site (skode.ai) are implemented through a single third-party tag-management container that loads only after you click “Accept All” on our cookie banner. If you reject non-essential cookies or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, the container and all analytics cookies it would otherwise set are blocked at the consent-mode layer (gtag('consent', 'update', {analytics_storage: 'denied'})).
| Cookie / tag | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
Google Tag Manager container GTM-5MBG4367 | Google LLC (United States) | Loads measurement tags for page views, CTA clicks, form submissions, and tool usage events. The specific cookies set by downstream tags (if any) are described in the linked Google privacy notice. | Varies per tag; blocked if consent is denied |
2.3 Functional preferences
The only functional preferences we store are listed under § 2.1 above (skode-theme, skode-chat-open, the CRM-app preferences).
2.4 Marketing and advertising cookies
We do not currently run any marketing, advertising, or retargeting cookies on skode.ai. That means we do not set or load: Meta (Facebook) Pixel, Google Ads conversion tags, LinkedIn Insight Tag, TikTok Pixel, Snap Pixel, Microsoft Clarity, Hotjar, or similar advertising and behaviour-profiling tools. If we begin using any of these in the future, we will update this policy and re-prompt you for consent at least 30 days before activation.
3. Other Tracking Technologies
In addition to cookies, we may use the following technologies:
- Web Beacons (Pixel Tags): Small transparent images embedded in emails or web pages that allow us to track whether an email has been opened or a page has been visited.
- Local Storage: Data stored in your browser that persists across sessions, used for storing application preferences and cached data.
- Session Storage: Temporary data stored in your browser for the duration of a single session, cleared when you close your browser tab.
4. How to Manage Cookies
You can control and manage cookies in several ways:
4.1 Cookie Consent Banner
When you first visit our website, a cookie consent banner will appear allowing you to accept or reject non-essential cookies. You can change your preferences at any time by clicking the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer of our website.
4.2 Browser Settings
Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically find these settings in the "Options" or "Preferences" menu of your browser. The following links provide information on how to manage cookies in popular browsers:
- Google Chrome: chrome://settings/cookies
- Mozilla Firefox: about:preferences#privacy
- Safari: Preferences > Privacy
- Microsoft Edge: edge://settings/privacy
Please note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of our website and your ability to use certain features.
4.3 Opt-Out of Analytics
The only analytics we use on skode.ai flows through Google Tag Manager container GTM-5MBG4367, which loads only after you click “Accept All”. You can block analytics at any time by (i) clicking “Reject Non-Essential” on our banner, (ii) clearing skode-cookie-consent from browser storage to re-prompt the banner, or (iii) enabling the Global Privacy Control signal in a supported browser.
We do not currently run interest-based advertising, retargeting, or cross-site tracking on skode.ai, so opt-outs for the DAA, EDAA, or individual ad-tech providers do not apply to our first-party property.
5. Third-Party Services Referenced on skode.ai
The only third-party service that sets cookies on skode.ai today is Google Tag Manager, operated by Google LLC (United States). For details on Google’s handling of data processed through the container, see the Google Privacy Policy and the Google Cookies and Similar Technologies page.
Inside our authenticated CRM application at app.skode.ai, no third-party analytics, advertising, or session-recording services are loaded. The CRM uses only the first-party session and preference items listed in § 2.1.
6. Global Privacy Control and Do-Not-Track Signals
We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal. When your browser transmits Sec-GPC: 1, we treat it as a “Reject Non-Essential” choice: the Google Tag Manager container does not load, no analytics cookies are set, and we display a visible in-page confirmation that your opt-out preference has been honoured. This handling complies with California Civil Code § 1798.135 and 11 CCR § 7025 as in force from 1 January 2026.
We also respect the legacy Do-Not-Track (DNT) signal in the same way: if your browser sends DNT, we do not set non-essential cookies.
Because we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, no “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” action is technically required — but we publish a link in our site footer and in our California Privacy Notice regardless, as California residents are entitled to it.
7. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, law, or our business practices. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
