# Add your own fields to profiles

> To add custom fields to profiles in Skode CRM: open Settings, choose Profiles & Contacts, open the field editor, and add a field with a name and type (text, number, date, dropdown…). The field then appears on every profile and in the import column-matcher.

Every business tracks something the standard fields don’t cover. Custom fields add it to every profile — and it shows up in imports, filters and views too.

## Step 1: Open the field editor

Go to **Settings -> Profiles & Contacts** and open the **field editor**.

## Step 2: Add a field

Give it a name and pick a type — text, number, date, dropdown. For a dropdown, list the choices people can pick from.

## Step 3: Save and check a profile

Open any profile — the new field is there, empty and ready. It also appears as a matchable column the next time you import.
